The original Boothstown Web Site was established by Tony Smith in 1997, and won the Frank Mullineux Local History Award 2000, presented by Eccles and District History Society “in appreciation of outstanding work in the field of local history”.
The Boothstown Web Site was refreshed in 2010 but has been offline for the last few years because its web hosting platform became unavailable.
From its inception this project received generous support from a number of local historians. The late C. Elsie Mullineux was a valued friend of Tony who scrutinised the historical detail and supplied a vast amount of source material as the web site was being built. Invaluable support was also received from Carol Woodward and the late Ann Monaghan.
